Ingredients:

  • 450g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 15ml olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 80ml honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 30ml soy sauce
  • 15ml fresh lemon juice
  • 5g cornstarch

Instructions:

  1. Whisk together 80ml honey, 3 minced garlic cloves, 30ml soy sauce, 15ml lemon juice, and 5g cornstarch in a small bowl. Note: Ensure the cornstarch is fully dissolved to avoid grainy sauce.
  2. Heat 15ml olive oil in a large non stick skillet over medium high heat.
  3. Pat 450g shrimp completely dry with paper towels and season with 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper.
  4. Add shrimp to the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque.
  5. Pour the honey garlic mixture directly over the seared shrimp.
  6. Stir constantly for 2-3 minutes until the sauce bubbles and transforms into a thick, mahogany colored glaze.
  7. Remove from heat immediately to prevent the honey from burning.
  8. Garnish with sliced green onions or sesame seeds if you have them.
